Rev. Christopher Reeves, M. Div
Rev. Christopher Reeves was born on March 31, 1980 in Phenix City, AL. He is the son of King and Annie Ruth Reeves. He was educated in the Phenix City School System and graduated from Central High School. At the age of 12, he became a member of the Gaines Chapel AME Church in Phenix City, Al.. During his time there, he held office as president of the Phenix City District as well as the East Alabama Conference YPD. He was elected to serve as preside of the Ninth Episcopal District and has attended several Quadrennials during his time in the YPD. In 2004, he was able to be part of the General Conference where he served on the Episcopal Committee. After coming from General Conference, Chris received and answered the greatest calling in his life; to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached his initial sermon on September 12, 2004 at the Gaines Chapel AME Church
He received an Associates degree in General Studies from CVCC, Phenix City, AL; a B.S. degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Services from Troy University, Phenix City, AL; and in May 2012 graduated from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA with a Master in Divinity. Rev. Reeves was ordained an itinerant elder during the Northeast Annual Conference at Washington Chapel AME Church, Tuskegee in September 2012. He has had the opportunity to serve as pastor of St Paul AME Church in Lanett, AL and Person Chapel AME Church in Midway, AL. In September 2017, Bishop Seawright appointed him the new pastor of Greater St. Paul AME Church.
He is employed with Aflac in Columbus, GA as an Accounting Specialist II. Rev. Reeves is married to the former Gwendolyn Neal of Ozark, AL who was also an active part of the YPD where she served as secretary for the Ninth Episcopal District. She is currently employed by Amedisys and Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, AL. They are the parents of three sons, Christian Neal, Landyn Daniel, and Aaden Samuel Reeves..
